Women Empowerment Training Flagged Off in Birnin Kebbi by Market Women Association.

An aide to the Kebbi State Governor on Youth Empowerment Programme/YESSO, Hon. Usman Buhari Ali Gwandu has called on politicians to desist from castigating the government blindly, saying that the agricultural revolution of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has gotten widespread national and international recognition for the State, this is enough to applaud the focused-government.
The State Co-ordinator, represented by the Operations Officer of the Kebbi State Youth Empowerment Programme/YESSO, Mr Saadu Sarki stated this at the flag off of a free 5 days skills acquisition training organised along with Market Women Association this Wednesday in the Ministry of Women Affairs in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
He informed that the government of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has remained focused on providing empowerment opportunities to youth and women in the State, which has boost the moral of young people to into finding alternative and sustainable sources of livelihood.
Stating further that the government has supported several trainings by various government agencies and private organizations in different areas of skills acquisition in the State.
The Co-ordinator further emphasized the government's commitment in providing opportunities and collaborations with both public and private entities to empower youth and women in the State through skills acquisition.
He also emphasized that empowerment is a process that involves careful planning and lot of resources, but assured that as efforts are rolled out, more people will benefit from the programmes.
The Chairman of the Market Women Association, Hajiya Saratu Muhammad Mera thanked the State government for its continuous support. Stating that women are getting more and more financial and technical opportunities in this government.
She also said that the Association felt the dire need of complimenting the efforts of the State government in increasing opportunities for self-reliance, hence the need for the training.
The President called on the beneficiaries to make sure they use the knowledge gained so that all the efforts made will not be wasted.
Hajiya Mera further informed that the training targets 200 women in areas of leather works, cosmetics, food processing, and snacks. However, more than the required number has turned out.
She also informed that a set of training for the youth across the State is underway in collaborative efforts with the State Youth Empowerment Office.
