The Labour Room activities takes another dimension as members mobilized Youth in Gwandu LGA to celebrate Kebbi at 26.
They celebrated the anniversary with conduct of sanitation activities in the local government area, where Youth in their hundreds were mobilized to various locations for the sanitation, including the local government headquarters, Sarkin Pawa Model Primary School, the Primary Health Centre in Gwandu town, and street cleaning.
The Chairman of the LGA, Hon Shehu Bagudu Dalijan, while flagging off the activities described the Labour Room as an effort in showcasing the tenet of democracy. He called upon the members to make sure they respect constituted authority and promised to support the initiative.
The LGA Vice Chairman, Hon. Atiku Culture, while supporting the Chairman during the Flag off, he also urged the members to be courageous in meeting their desires and make sure they remain focus towards achieving the objectives of the Labour Room Project.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Patron of the Kebbi State Labour Room, Hon. Usman Buhari Ali Gwandu briefed the local authority on the benefits attached of the Labour Room, including being an initiative to bring together young minds for the collective development of themselves, their communities and empowerment opportunities.
He also informed that the Labour Room is a national initiative with representatives from all the States, in which a winner will emerge and to be provided N200 million for empowerment of Youth in his or her State.
The Patron further called on the youth to remain informed with activities of the Labour Room in the media, so as to assess performance of the participants during the show. He encouraged them to do all that they can to make sure the Kebbi State Labour Room Governor, His Excellency Barrister Shamsu Magaji emerge as the winner.
Similarly, the youth also conducted an election for the Labour Room local government leadership, which saw the emergence of Hon. Saminu Muazu from Gwandu Sarkin Fawa Ward as the Executive Chairman of Gwandu LGA Labour Room, he is to see to the election of a Vice Chairman and Ward Chairmen immediately.
The newly elected Chairman thanked the members in the local government for the confidence they have in him, the Patron for all efforts and ever counting support to the Labour Room in Gwandu, Kebbi and the nation at large. He also applauded the acceptance to support the initiative by the local government authority.
